The Heart Behind Thready Bobbins

Thready Bobbins was born in a season of life that looked nothing like I had planned.

I had taken a management job at a restaurant and moved to Metairie for what I thought would be an exciting new chapter. Unfortunately, the business didn’t make it, and I found myself in a city away from my friends, my family, and the familiarity of home in Mandeville. What I thought was going to be one opportunity had suddenly turned into something completely different.

Somewhere in the middle of all that uncertainty, I picked up embroidery (thanks TikTok)

I had never embroidered a thing in my life. I didn’t know the first thing about machines, stitches, stabilizers, hoops,or thread. But I was curious, and determined. One project turned into another, and before I knew it, I was obsessed.

There’s something incredibly rewarding about picking up something you’ve never done before, teaching yourself, graduating from “YouTube University” and watching your own two hands create something beautiful. Every mistake became a lesson, every little accomplishment felt like a victory, and every new project reminded me that we are capable of so much more than we give ourselves credit for.

I’ve always wanted to live my life with one simple goal: to leave everything a little more beautiful than I found it. Whether that’s a person, a place, an opportunity, or even a simple piece of fabric.

There’s beauty in the details. But more than anything, I want Thready Bobbins to reflect my heart. My greatest desire is to exemplify Jesus in everything I do. Not just in the words I speak, but in the way I treat people, the way I show up for others, and the love I put into my work.

Looking back, I can’t help but smile at how something that felt like a setback led me to discover something I never even knew I would love. What started as a hobby during an unexpected season of disappointment has grown into a dream that I’m so excited to pursue.

I don’t know exactly where this little business will take me, but I do know Who I want guiding every step.

And if there’s one thing I hope you take away from my story, it’s this: Don’t be afraid to begin again, try something completely unfamiliar, or discover a new version of yourself. Sometimes the most beautiful things grow from the seasons we never would have chosen.
Remember what Jesus said about the mustard seed?

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

- Matthew 17:20

Thank you for being here, supporting this dream, and allowing me to create a little something beautiful for you.

With love and gratitude,

Taylor
